PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity for mass memory with a printer and to simplify the constitution of the control circuit of the printer, by separating a reader section from a printer section and sending a video signal from the reader section in synchronization with a timing signal from the printer section.

CONSTITUTION: A printer section B drives a timing roller 18 in synchronization with a VSYNC signal sent from a reader section A and the reader section A starts sending of a video signal synchronously to the VSYNC signal. A BD signal is a signal generated by the printer section B and a digital signal image is sent from the reader section A in synchronization with this BD signal. The reader section a transmits the digital signal image to the printer section B by synchronizing the signal with a section where an OVE signal is active in the main scanning direction. At the printer section B, for example, an one-shot multivibrator is triggered by means of the rise of the VSYNC signal and the drive signal RG of the timing roller 18 is generated. The video signal is outputted to the printer section B in a section where a VE signal is active.
