Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus and a method for printing by which generation of defects of printing is suppressed and a good printed article can be obtained in a short time.
SOLUTION: In a digital printing machine, the amount of feeding an ink can be separately adjusted on every divided region divided into a plurality of regions to a printing plate. Among partial raster data RD expressing a page, a partial raster data RD5 corresponding to one divied region is corrected and converted by a dot gain correction curve DGb and on the other hand, partial raster data RD1-RD4 and RD6-RD8 corresponding to other divided regions are corrected and converted by a dot gain correction curve DGa and each corrected partially corrected raster data forms synthesized corrected raster data RHM. In addition, based on each of the partially corrected raster data, the amount of feeding of the ink for each of the divided regions is determined. The ink with the determined amount of feeding of the ink is fed on a recorded printing plate based on the synthesized corrected raster data RHM to perform printing.
