To provide a printing apparatus enabling printing pressure required in printing operation to be lowered without causing a deterioration of the quality of a printed image, performing the miniaturization of the apparatus, reducing costs, and printing high quality printed matter even in a general office.
The apparatus has a conductive form plate support member 5 and a transfer pattern, and comprises an original plate 6 mounted on the form plate support member 5, an ink application means 1 for applying ink 4 on the aforementioned pattern of the original plate 6, a conductive compression member 8 adapted to compress a recording medium 9 to the original plate mounted on the form plate support member 5, a porous sheet 16 to be interposed between the original form plate 6 and the recording medium 9, and a voltage application means 12 for applying a predetermined voltage between the form plate support member 5 and the compression member 8.
