Abstract:
To provide a printing apparatus which uses a guide shaft capable of maintaining a favorable lubrication state for a long period of time.
The printing apparatus includes a carriage unit 2a which scans a fluid jet head 12 to the guide shafts 10 and 20 arranged in parallel to a medium 4. The carriage unit 2a has the guide shafts 10 and 20 with an oil holding part which holds a lubricating oil at least on a shaft surface layer, a sliding part 11 which is supported to be slidable to the guide shafts 10 and 20, and a drive part which relatively moves the sliding part 11 to the guide shafts 10 and 20.
