Abstract:
To dry ink while suppressing occurrence of wrinkles on a printed medium M with out increasing size of a printing apparatus.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus 1 includes: a set part 2 on which a roll shaped printed medium M is set; a winding part 5 for winding, in a roll shape, the printed medium M transported from the set part 2; a head 3 for discharging ink onto an image forming surface Ma of the printed medium M being transported, thereby forming an image; and a drying chamber 4 formed downstream of the head 3 in a transport direction T of the printed medium M and a downward side of the head 3 in a gravity direction, the drying chamber for drying the ink discharged to the printed medium M. The drying chamber 4 is provided with an endless belt 6 made of metal and for transporting the printed medium M while being in contact with an image non-forming surface Mb on an opposite side of the printed medium M from the image forming surface Ma, and a plurality of rollers R over which the endless belt 6 is stretched, the plurality of rollers for allowing rotation of the endless belt 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
