Abstract:
To provide a printing apparatus in which it can be determined, with simple structure, whether a key groove is at a predetermined rotation position or not.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes: a support shaft having a key that is inserted into a key groove 51b of a plate cylinder 51; a raising/lowering unit that moves the plate cylinder 51 between a plate replacement position where the plate cylinder 51 in a printing unit performing printing on a web is attached/detached, a detection position where a position of the key groove 51b is detected and a standby position where the plate cylinder 51 carried in the printing unit is put on standby; a non-contact sensor that measures a distance of the plate cylinder 51 from the detection position; and a control unit that detects the position of the key groove 51b from a measurement result of the non-contact sensor. The non-contact sensor measures distances of the plate cylinder 51 respectively from a center portion P2 where the key groove 51b is estimated to be position at the detection position and side parts P1, P3 each of which is separated from the center portion P2 by a width Wk or more of the key groove 51b in a tangential direction of the plate cylinder 51. Based on differences from the plurality of portions measured by the non-contact sensor, the control unit detects the position of the key groove 51b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
