To provide a printing apparatus capable of well cooling a printed object to be printed even when the size of a cooling platen is not enlarged.
A temp. sensor 38 as a detection means for detecting the temp. of a cooling platen 23 is provided on the downstream side of a printing part 8 and a supply standby means allowing a supply means for supplying an object 7 to be printed from a supply means 4 to stand by corresponding to the temp. of the cooling platen 23 detected by the temp. sensor 38 is provided. The supply of the object 7 to be printed in the supply part 4 to the printing part 8 can be allowed to stand by the supply standby means until temp. capable of cooling the object 7 to be printed becomes predetermined temp. or lower and, even if the size of the cooling platen 23 is not increased, efficient cooling can be performed and printing treatment efficiency can be enhanced.
