SOLUTION: A printing apparatus executes authentication processing on the basis of inputted identification information, and is characterized by acquiring the authentication processing function of the printing apparatus, determining whether or not the authentication processing of the printing apparatus can process the inputted identification information on the basis of the acquired function, and converting a data form of the inputted identification information when determining as being not processable.
