Abstract:
To make a mark of a printing medium accurately detectable according to the type of the printing medium.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes a type specification part 110 that specifies the type of a medium, a mark sensor 76 that detects a mark that the medium has by projecting light and a projection light amount setting part 111 that sets the projection light amount of the light projected by the mark sensor 76, and is possible to switch the operation mode to either a white medium mode in which a medium having a larger light reflectivity than that of the mark is a processing object or the other color medium mode in which a medium having a smaller light reflectivity than that of the mark is a processing object according to the type of the medium specified by the type specification part 110, the mark sensor 76 detects the mark with the projection light amount set to the white medium projection light amount in the white medium mode, and detects the mark with the projection light amount set to the other color medium light projection amount which is larger than the white medium projection light amount in the other color medium mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
