A printer 104 stores a ciphered voice feature amount identifying a user in a memory box area 502 inside a RAM 203 together with the print data received from a computer 101 and ciphers the print data for which the ciphered voice feature amount in a ciphering request data 800 and the ciphered voice feature amount stored in the memory box area 502 match by a public key 301 in a public key system. Thus, the print data requiring the security protection are protected and the data leakage at the time of printing is reduced.
