Abstract:
To provide a printing device that can determine a type of a cassette using a reflection-type sensor for position determination and a pair of a first cassette and a second cassette.SOLUTION: The printing device, when a die-cut label-type tape cassette 100 is attached to a cassette holder, detects a mark 13 exposed through a through-hole 150, on the basis of an output voltage outputted by an optical sensor to perform control of determining a position of a tape 10 to be printed on a conveyance passage. Further, the printing device determines whether or not the tape cassette 100 of either of the die-cut label-type and of a non-fixed length label-type is attached to the cassette holder, by detecting the through-hole 150, on the basis of an outputted voltage by the optical sensor. This enables the printing device to determine a type of the tape cassette 100 attached to the cassette holder, using the optical sensor that is used to detect a position of the tape 10 to be printed of a die-cut label.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
