To provide a printing device capable of preventing the lowering of operating effectiveness in a case when the wrong printing paper is mixed in a paper tray.
This printing device comprises a tray 11 for holding the printing paper, a printing paper transporting means for transporting the printing paper from the tray, detecting means 14, 15 for detecting the abnormality on the printing paper, a control means 20 for controlling the printing paper transporting means to discharge the printing paper and transport the new printing paper from the tray on the basis of a result of the detection by the detecting means, and a printing means 16 for performing the printing onto the printing paper transported by the printing paper transporting means based on the printing data.
