Abstract:
To prevent an ink ribbon from being damaged in adjusting an angle of a thermal head.SOLUTION: A printing device 1 that prints an image on a recording medium with an ink ribbon comprises a platen roller 44, and a head unit 200 which comprises a thermal head 51 that heats and pressure-contacts the platen roller 44 through a card C and an ink ribbon R and a head frame 202 that adjusts a turning angle of the thermal head 51. The head unit 200 can move between a printing position where the unit can contact the ink ribbon R to print an image on the card C and a retreating position where the unit separates from the ink ribbon R, which enables the head frame 202 to adjust the turning angle when moving to the retreating position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
