Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a waste of ink ribbon to a minimum level by a colour printing device using an ink ribbon having three colours of ink provided repeatedly in a length direction even in a case where only printing data are printed that are shorter than those of the respective ink portions.
SOLUTION: Respective printing lengths Ln of a plurality of printing data are calculated, a pointer n is renewed, and the respective printing lengths Ln are added to a total printing length L. Whether or not the total printing length L exceeds a maximum printing length 1 corresponding to the ink length of an ink ribbon, and when the total printing length exceeds the ink length, the printing length Ln that is added last is then subtracted from the total printing length L and furthermore the following printing length Ln that is designated by the renewed pointer n is added. When the total printing length L is judged as being equal to the maximum printing length 1, the respective printing data that are summed and added are printed at one time, and when the total printing length L to which the last printing length Ln is added is judged as exceeding the maximum printing length 1, the respective printing data that have been added by then are printed at one time except the last added printing data.
