To automate all the work of printing, half-cutting and full-cutting by providing a half-cutting means that cuts a long printing medium such as a label tape, leaving a part thereof, and a full-cutting means that performs full-cutting, and starting a full-cutting driving means in full-cutting positions on the basis of print data.
A thermal head 7 forming a printing section of a thermal printer for tubes and label sheets is furnished with a head angle 8, the head angle 8 engages the projecting portion 8c of the other end portion 8b with the first cam 14 of a cam member 12 where the first 1 and second cams 14, 15 are integrated, and that is rotated by a motor 16 by the urging of a spring 10. Printing is performed by sliding the cutter holder of the half-cutting means 17 in the directions of contact and separation by the second cam 15 of the cam member 12. A scissors-shaped full-cutting means 18 arranged downstream in the direction of transport of the half-cutting means 17 swings the moving cutter 18b through the head angle 8 and a connecting rod 21 by the rotation of the first cam 14.
