Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method in which both a cold strip type ribbon and a hot strip type ribbon can be used. SOLUTION: On the opposite sides of a moving passage (16) through which a ribbon (12) fixed to a fixing shaft (10) moves to a ribbon winding shaft (14), a thermal head (20) provided with a heater (18) at the downstream side edge and a platen (22) are disposed, a ground paper (24) having a label is introduced between the heater and the platen and the label is printed. A deflection roller (26) is disposed at a position of the moving passage on the downstream side of the heater and any one of a first passage (28) directing from the heater toward the ribbon winding shaft or a second passage (29) directing from the heater toward the ribbon winding shaft through the deflection roller is selected as a moving passage.
