PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of an impression cylinder by enabling the gathering immediately after the printing on a plurality of printing papers by means of a single gripper which is adapted to grip and release a paper every cycle of rotation while the papers are fed sequentially according to the number of sheets to be gathered.

CONSTITUTION: A printing section B has an impression cylinder C, a plate cylinder D in cooperation therewith and an inking device E for feeding ink to the plate cylinder. The impression cylinder C is provided with a single gripper 1c common to papers which is adapted to grip and release papers 1p, 2p... fed sequentally from a paper delivery section A in the order of gathering each time the cylinder turns. The inking unit E has inking devices 1eW4e arranged about the plate cylinder like satellites to supply separate inks corresponding to plates 1d, 2d... of patterns on the plate cylinder D. A plurality of papers 1p, 2p... fed from the paper delivery section A are gripped with a gripper 1c in the order of the gathering each time the impression cylinder C turns and with the rotary contact between the impression cylinder C and the plate cylinder D, individual patterns are printed on the papers 1d, 2p... corresponding to the patterns 1d, 2d... of the plate cylinder D.
