Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-replaceable unit containing an automatic aligning electrifying device automatically aligning the electrificatgion start position to the platen document off-set position and used for an electrostatic electrophotographic copying machine. SOLUTION: This electrostatic electrophotographic copying machine is provided with a frame, a charge holding photoconductive face 12, and a document platen 30 containing the document off-set position useful to copy a document having a blackish border or a clipped edgeless document. This automatic aligning electrifying device assembly 100 is provided with (a) a corona generator 26 electrifying a photoconductive face 12, (b) a stop member fitted to the copying machine directly below the platen 30, located directly below the document off-set position 102 of the platen 30 apart from the desired position by a predetermined distance, and kept in contact with the corona generator 26, and (c) an elastic force applying means 130 supported in the copying machine, connected to the corona generator 26, and automatically aligning the corona generator 26 at the desired position against the document off-set position 102.
