This printing machine is a sheet-fed printing machine 1 equipped with the opening and closing scaffold 53, which is arranged adjacent to the conveying direction of printing paper of a printing unit 17a and is provided rockablly about a supporting pin 61 extending along the printing unit 17a between a nearly vertically open position K and a nearly horizontally closed position H under the condition that the opening and closing scaffold 53 has a box-type structure and the scaffold surface 75 on the printing unit 17a is brought nearer to the outside surface of the printing unit 17a at its open position K.
