To provide a new printing machine which dispenses with the removal of a printing plate from a printing unit of the printing machine.
Each printing unit is equipped with a printer (12) which comprises a transfer cylinder (13), a plate cylinder (14) for supporting the printing plate where an image area can be formed and erased, an inking device (15), and a dampening device (16). Inside the printing machine, the printing units (11 and 12) are provided with corresponding storage devices (17) with a plurality of storage places (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d, 18e and 18f) for the plate cylinder (14), respectively. The plate cylinder of each printing unit can be automatically transferred between the printer (12) of the printing unit and storage places (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d, 18e and 18f) of the storage device (17) by a carrying device. Corresponding image-area forming devices (21) are provided in the storage places (18a and 18d), respectively. The image area is formed on the printing plate, and precedently erased according to circumstances.
