PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming a higher-quality image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a first abutting section and a second abutting section arranged side by side in a first direction; a printing medium conveyance section for conveying a printing medium in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction so that a first end edge in the first direction of the printing medium abuts on the first abutting section or the second abutting section and the first abutting section or the second abutting section is displaced in the first direction; and a position detection section for detecting the position of the first end edge in the first direction on the basis of the displacement amount of the first abutting section or the second abutting section which abuts on the first end edge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
