In a printing method using a first motor which gives a driving force for rotating a roll body around which a print medium is wound, a second motor which gives a driving force for driving a conveyance drive roller of the print medium intermittently, and a print head which ejects ink intermittently to the print medium and alternately with the drive of the second motor, the first motor is driven so that tension acting on the print medium becomes constant in at least a part of a period when the second motor is driven, and the drive of the first motor is stopped when the amount of the print medium conveyed by the roll body by driving the first motor exceeds a target amount of the print medium which should be conveyed by the conveyance drive roller by driving at least the second motor.
