PURPOSE: To beautifully finish a sizing pattern, by printing a continuous pattern to the corrugated board liner delivered from an unwinder over the entire surface thereof and applying printing having a predetermined repeating length to said continuous pattern.
CONSTITUTION: An ink fountain roller 12 is an intaglio printing and has no rotation apparatus and an impression cylinder 4 also has no power means and is rotated by a liner 20. A liner 20 receiving printing over the entire surface thereof is controlled in its running speed by nip rolls 74, 76. The peripheral speed of a printing means 51 is made different from the peripheral speed (that is, the liner running speed) of the nip roll 74 and the printing of a pattern having an arbitrary repeating length is performed by a printing means 51 having a definite diameter. The pattern having a predetermined repeating length is printed on the liner 20 reaching the second printing unit 50 through a guide roll 78. When the repeating length is larger than the peripheral length of the printing means 51, the running speed of the liner 20 becomes faster than the peripheral speed of the printing means 51. The pattern on the printing means 51 is extended and contracted in a rotary direction according to a change rate to be subjected to plate making and is printed in a predetermined pattern when printing is applied.
