PURPOSE: To reduce cost and improve performance as well as efficiency in the processing speed of the title device by a method wherein the title device is provided with a plurality of emulation processing means having different control process commanding systems or different data output processing systems and a means holding internal or external picture generating units in common by the plurality of emulation processing means.

CONSTITUTION: Printing output data, comprising a control command sent from a host computer or external CPUs C, C' to the input and output interface unit 103 of a printing output device B, are shifted to respective emulate function controlling and processing systems A, A' through a CPU 104 in the printing output device. The shifted data are analyzed by the printing controlling and processing unit or an output device controlling and processing unit 105 in the emulate function controlling and processing systems A, A' while control command procession is effected to send letter and figure informations to a letter and figure generating unit 106 through the CPU 104 in a printing output device main body B. The letters and figures are processed in the letter and figure generating unit 106 and, thereafter, they are sent to a bit and map memory RAM 107 for printing output data, then, the memory is deployed to send them to a printing output device driving system 108 to output the printing outputs.
