To provide printing paper, particularly printing paper for security for preventing leakage of document and to provide a method for producing the printing paper.

The printing paper includes first base paper (10), second base paper (20) each of which keeps one surface bonded to each other by a bonding means, and one or more tags (30) for detection provided between adhesive surfaces of the first base paper (10) and the second base paper (20). The printing paper has the following advantages. Whether document is carried out or not can be sensed by a sensing means without attaching a tag for detection to the document, and the tag for detection is not exposed on the surface of the printing paper, so that the printing paper does not only give damage to durability of machine, but accident breakage or dropping out of the tag for detection can also be prevented.
