To obtain printing paper provided with printability/handleability by a forms rotary press, having high ink absorbing capacity, high ink absorbing rate, high resolution and high colorability for water-soluble ink to be used in ink jet printers, with printed water-soluble ink set in the paper layer and presenting high resistance to water, thus esp. suitable to ink jet printers.
This printing paper is so designed that the outer layer and/or inner layer of the pulp fiber basal paper contains a compound prepared by reaction between (a) a dibasic carboxylic acid and (b) a polyakylene polyamine in the molar ratio a/b of 1:(1.1-1.5) to form a polyamide polyamine which is, in turn, reacted with (c) an epihalohydrin in the molar ratio b/c of 1:(1.1 to 1.8).
