Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate material which can be reused coping with the digitization of a printing process, and its reproducing method.
SOLUTION: As a printing plate material, a material, which is produced by forming a coating layer including a titanium oxide photocatalyst and a metal except a titanium on a base material, is used. At the early state in the making of a plate, the surface of the plate material is prepared in a hydrophobic state. The above preparation is executed by coating the surface with a compound such as an octadecyl trimetho silane or the like. By irradiating an ultraviolet ray over the surface, some part of the surface is converted to a hydrophilic surface. This conversion is executed on the basis of the digital data in conformity with an image being intended to be printed. Thus, hydrophobic portions are used as image parts and hydrophilic portions are used as non- image parts. After the finish of a printing, the above compound is coated again so as to convert the surface of the coating layer again to the early hydrophobic state in the making of the plate.
