To provide a method for manufacturing a printing plate by which a printing plate with an irregular pattern of expected size is obtained.

The method for manufacturing the printing plate includes: mold making steps (1a) to (1d) each obtaining a mold 16 by joining a reinforcing substrate 15 to a surface opposite to an irregular pattern forming surface of an irregular pattern substrate 14 formed of a mold original plate 14k; a coating step (2a) of applying liquid resin 13a to the irregular pattern forming surface of the mold 16; curing steps (2b) and (2c) each obtaining a cured resin layer 13 by pressing a supporting substrate 52 on the mold 16 while holding a layer of the liquid resin 13a between, and curing the liquid resin 13a by heating in such a state; and a peeling step (2c) of obtaining the printing plate 50 comprising the cured resin layer 13 to which the irregular pattern is transferred and the supporting substrate 52 by peeling the mold 16 from the cured resin layer 13. In a temperature range of heating and cooling treatment in the curing step, a difference of a thermal expansion coefficient between the reinforcing substrate 15 and the supporting substrate 52 is smaller than that between the supporting substrate 52 and the irregular pattern substrate 14.
