Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an easy-to-operate printing press, especially an offset printing press, in which the washing cost is relatively low.
CONSTITUTION: The printing press, especially an offset printing press, comprises a plate cylinder, a rubber blanket cylinder, an impression cylinder, an inking unit with an inking roller and a dampening unit, and a washing apparatus being placed in engagement with the rubber blanket cylinder in the wash mode. In the wash mode, the impression cylinder 37 is engaged with disengaged from the rubber blanket cylinder 36 by a paper thickness compensator, the usual purpose of which is to compensate for the thickness of the stock in running-on mode.
