PURPOSE: To enable a printing of an optional length to be carried out even though a printing cylinder is not exchanged, by providing a speed regulation means by which the travel speed of a web is made different from the peripheral speed of the printing cylinder and an abutting means having a small radius of curvature.
CONSTITUTION: A printing cylinder 50 is driven with a motor 54 via a first gear 52. The power of the first gear 52 is transmitted to a speed change gear 70, one of a speed regulation means, separately via a second gear 56. The output from the speed change gear 70 is transmitted to a web drive roll 74 via a third gear 72. A web 20 of which the travel is controlled by a scheduled ratio abuts against the printing cylinder 50 via a guide roll 78 while being pulled by a rewinder 24. When an abutting means 30 is a roll, the diameter of the roll should preferably be 10 mmW140 mm. When the abutting means 30 is united with a frame, it is possible that the radius of curvature is made to about 2 mm.
