To provide a printing device, a printing system, a host device, a method for controlling them and an information recording medium, suitable to finely manage a method for stopping a power supply to the printing device from the host device.

The printing device is connected to the host device, and includes a receiving unit, a permitting unit, a command storing unit, a printing unit, and a stop processing unit. The receiving unit receives commands including printing data transmitted from the host device and a power supply-off command. The permitting unit permits the execution of stop processing when the received command is the power supply-off command. The command storing unit stores the received command. The printing unit sequentially reads the stored commands, and prints characters or graphic forms corresponding to the printing data when the read commands are the printing data. The stop processing unit executes the stop processing to the printing device when the execution of the stop processing is permitted, and specific conditions are satisfied. The maintenance processing of a printing head of the printing unit, stop of the power supply, shifting processing to a power-saving mode, etc. are executed through the stop processing of the printing device.
