In a print control device which transfers a job to an image processor, after a job is transmitted to the image processor, when it is determined that the kind of the job whose start instruction has not been received from the image processor within a prescribed time is a specific kind of job, the storage destination of storage means storing the job which has transmitted to the image processor is changed to a storage destination for jobs in a waiting state. Then, the storage destination of the job to be printed by the image processor is changed to the storage destination for jobs in a waiting state, an instruction for shifting to a power saving state is transmitted to the image processor thereafter.
