Title:
PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINTER AND RECORDING AGENT CARTRIDGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3589344
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the optimum printing result even in case a recording agent cartridge different from the recording agent cartridge expected to be used in the printer, is mounted on the printer.
SOLUTION: A printer driver 7 obtains the kind of the ink from an EEPROM 21 of a cartridge 19 for judging whether or not the ink in the cartridge is a standard ink. In the case it is not the standard ink, the ink characteristic (for example, the ink dot size on a paper) information is obtained from the EEPROM 21 of the cartridge 19. Based thereon, an error diffusion coefficient table or a dither threshold table used in a gradation process prepared for default is corrected so as to be compatible with the recording agent.
