In the printing system, when a user issues a confidential print job from a print job source terminal 5a, the user designates a print-enabled place. The issued confidential print job is associated with information about the designated print-enabled place, and is stored in a spooler device 3. When the user requests execution of confidential printing in a printer 7a disposed in a certain place, the spooler device 3 retrieves the confidential print job associated with the print-enabled place that matches the location of the printer 7a from the spooler device 3, and transmits it to the printer 7a. The printer 7a can print only the confidential print job having the print-enabled place that matches the location of the printer 7a.
