Abstract:
To place a coil spring in stable operation for a long period and to suitably and speedily release a cutter locked state even on occurrence thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a printing unit with a cutter that comprises: a drive rack coupled to a movable blade; and a return mechanism which moves the movable blade from a cutting position to a standby position when a mechanical connection with a drive motor is broken, wherein the return mechanism comprises a coil spring 150 having a coil part 153 wound spirally around a coil axis O2 over from a first winding end 151 to a second winding end 152, a first lock end part 154 bent extending from the first winding end toward a radially outer side of the coil part, and a second lock end part 155 bent extending from the second winding end to the radially outer side of the coil part, and the coil spring is fitted with the first lock end part locked to a return gear and the second lock end part locked to a fixed member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 24
