Abstract:
To provide a probability generator and a random number generator which are new and useful.SOLUTION: The probability generator can set a prescribed generation probability of '0' or '1' bit, and comprises: an oscillation part 11 generating square waves including random jitter in a plurality of periods; and a determination part 13 detecting an electric potential of the square wave inputted from the oscillation part and assigning '0' or '1' bit according to the electric potential. The oscillation part includes an oscillation circuit 16 including a magnetoresistive element that has a magnetization free layer, a magnetization fixed layer, and a tunnel barrier layer between the magnetization free layer and the magnetization fixed layer. By making a current flow to the magnetoresistive element, a direction of magnetization direction of the magnetization free layer can be reversed. A resistance value changes in accordance with whether the direction of magnetization of the magnetization free layer and a direction of magnetization of the magnetization fixed layer are in a parallel state or an anti-parallel state. The jitter is generated based on timing of the change in the resistance value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
