Abstract:

To provide a probe for improving bonding force to a target nucleic acid fragment, a probe design device and a probe design program therefor.

In a DNA probe design process (S5), force acting on a double strand structure of an arbitrary probe designed by using a graphic display function and a target nucleic acid molecule is calculated by a classic molecular force field calculation (S59). Each atom position is adjusted until the calculated force reaches a prescribed threshold value or below to give a stable double strand structure and bond energy of the arbitrary probe is calculated by a bond energy analysis process (S62). The calculated bond energy of the arbitrary probe and the bond energy of a standard probe memorized in a determination value memory are outputted together with identification information to an LCD. Consequently a user clearly grasps hybridization ability of the designed probe and can design a probe having improved bonding force.
