Title:
PROBE FOR IN-VIVO MEASUREMENT AND SCINTILLATION DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02206786
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extremely miniaturize a probe part for detecting beta rays and positrons and to detect the beta rays and positrons in a microregion by inserting an injection needle into a living body, fixing the needle and inserting the probe through this injection needle.

CONSTITUTION: A hollow guide needle 20, such as injection needle having about 1mm diameter, is inserted into the living body 19 is fixed by an adhesive agent 21 and a probe 18 is inserted in the hollow part of this needle 20. A flash is generated by contact of beta rays with a scintillation fiber 13 as the scintillator of the probe part 10 and is transmitted in a photoconductive fiber 16 of a photoconductive part 11, from which the light is sent to a photodetector 12. The light is subjected to various computations and is fetched as data. The probe part to detect the beta rays or positrons is extremely miniaturized according to such constitution and the detection of the beta rays in the microregion of the living body, etc., is possible.
