Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the wt. of a probe and to facilitate handling, in the probe of an inspection apparatus using nuclear magnetic resonance, by providing a gap between the signal electrode and guard ring electrode of a transmitting- receiving coil. CONSTITUTION:Not only an insulator 2 but also a gap are provided between a signal electrode 3 and a guard ring electrode 1 and, by making the size of said gap variable, self-resonance frequency can be set freely and the wt. of a probe is reduced, because the insulator 2 can be constituted thinly. Since the space between the signal electrode 3 and the guard ring electrode 1 is filled almost by air, a dielectric constant is lowered and resonance frequency can be set to a higher level and, since loss is almost eliminated with the reduction in the thickness of the insulator 2, a Q-value can be enhanced and a lightweight high capacity probe can be supplied even at high frequency.
