Title:
PROCESS FOR COAGULATION SEPARATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3791137
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coagulate and separate perfluorocarbon polymer from a perfluorocarbon polymer solution in a fluorinated solvent by using a solvent for coagulation that has little influence on global warming and no anxiety of ozone layer depletion.
SOLUTION: (A) A perfluorocarbon polymer bearing a sulfonic acid type functional group (i) solution in a fluorinated solvent (ii) is combined with (B) a hydrofluoro-ether as a solvent for coagulation to coagulate and separate the polymer of the component (i). The solvent of the component (ii) boils at 10-250°C and is preferably selected from the group consisting of hydrochlorofluorocarbon, hydrofluorocarbon, perfluorocarbon and hydrofluoro- ether. The component B is of 3-10 carbon atoms, has at least one of H atom and F atom of at least the same number as that of H atoms and, for example, C4H9OCH3, C4HH9OCH2CH3 can be preferably cited. The use of the solvent permits smooth and advantageous coagulation and separation of the polymer.
