To provide a process for producing a gasoline with a low sulfur content that makes it possible to upgrade the whole of the gasoline cut containing sulfur and to reduce the total sulfur content of the gasoline cut to a very low level, without substantially decreasing a gasoline yield, while minimizing an octane number drop due to the hydrogenation of an olefin.
The process for producing a gasoline with a low sulfur content comprises the following at least three steps: (A) the first step of converting at least a part of a sulfur-containing compound present in a gasoline into H2S and a saturated sulfur-containing compound; (B) the second step of removing H2S from the gasoline produced in the step A; and (C) the third step of converting the saturated sulfur-containing compound remaining in the soline into H2S.
