PURPOSE: To continuously conduct ozonolysis by mixing a soln. of unsatd. org. compd. dissolved in a protic solvent which dissolve the products of ozonolysis with an ozone-containing inert carrier gas and passing downwardly through while supplying an inert coolant.
CONSTITUTION: For dissipating heat of reaction, while supplying continuously an inert coolant from the top of reaction column, ozonolysis is conducted continuously by passing downwardly through a mixed soln. of unsatd. org. compd. (especially olefine) dissolved in a protic solvent (for example, methanol) which dissolve the products of ozonolysis with an ozone-containing inert carrier gas at ≤40°C. The temperature of coolant is regulated to (b.p. -200) to 20°C (especially -50 to -10°C) and the b.p. is preferable at least 5°C below (especially 10 to 30°C below) than the temp. of ozonolysis and dichloro-difluoromethane, etc., are preferable. According to the above mentioned process superheating is avoided, the yield is increased and the by-products are decreased.
