To separate a solid residue from a soln. of the residue in a simple process by adding inert high-boiling poit hydrocarbons in a specified ratio in a stirred bed, heating the evaporable materials under vacuum to evaporate, drawing off and condensing them.
Inert high-boiling poit hydrocarbons of up to 20 wt.% with respect to a soln. of the residue are added. A screw housing 1 has a heating jacket 2 and a wall-face sweep element or a paddle 3, and has an introducing point 31 of granular materials and an injection inlet 32 for bitumen, the soln. of the residue is introduced from a line 4 having injection nozzles 4a-4g. And when sucked by a vacuum pump, the evaporable materials evaporate, are drawn off, transfered to a condenser and distilled, and the solid residue is removed from a taking out port 7.
