Title:
PROCESS FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL DECOMPOSITION OF PRECURSORS IN POWDER FORM AND ELECTROLYSIS CELL SUITABLE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005036245
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a process for electrochemically decomposing precursors in powder form, and to provide an electrolysis cell suitable therefor.

The process is a process for electrochemically decomposing the precursors in the powder form by introducing a powder batch between two electrodes of the electrolysis cell. The electrode is designed to be liquid-permeable, and an electrolyte flows through the powder batch perpendicularly to an electrode surface. The electrolysis cell comprises an electrically insulative housing and two parallel liquid-permeable electrodes; and has a structure comprising a pierced plate (5) supported by at least one electrode, an electrode plate (3) provided with perforations, a filter fabric (4) arranged between these plates, and a cathode (6) which is shielded from the cell by means of a liquid-permeable separator (7).
