To provide a deodorization process by which defects of a conventional deodorization process can be eliminated and any odor can completely be removed.

This deodorization process comprises: preparing a cooled gaseous mixture obtained by dedusting an odorous gas, cooling the dedusted odorous gas and adding and mixing ozone into the cooled odorous gas, or by mixing ozone into an odorous gas, dedusting the gaseous mixture and cooling the dedusted gaseous mixture; bringing the cooled gaseous mixture into contact with water while stirring in a bubbled state in the presence of excitation light and a photocatalyst, to decompose the odor of the odorous gas; dissolving a water-soluble component of the odorous gas in water, to remove the water-soluble component from the odorous gas; decomposing the dissolved component in water by the photocatalyst; and further bringing the residual gas remaining after the water-soluble component removal, into contact with at least one substance selected from various photocatalysts and active carbon to deodorize the residual gas. This deodorization equipment is used for performing the deodorization process.
