Abstract:

To provide a process of hydrotreatment a heavy hydrocarbon oil, which hydrogenates a raw oil containing the heavy hydrocarbon oil to produce low-sulfur heavy oil having a sulfur content of ≤1 mass%, and which can produce the low-sulfur heavy oil stably over a long period.

The process of hydrotreatment the heavy hydrocarbon oil produces a low-sulfur heavy oil having a sulfur content of ≤1 mass% by hydrotreatment as a raw oil (a mixed raw oil), a mixed oil obtained by mixing two or more different hydrocarbon oils containing heavy hydrocarbon oil, wherein the mixed raw oil is prepared so as to meet the following (1) to (3) properties. (1): The metal content (V content + Ni content) is ≥20 mass ppm and ≤150 mass ppm. (2): The nitrogen content is ≥500 mass ppm and ≤2,000 mass ppm. (3): The asphaltene content is ≥2.0 mass% and ≤7.0 mass%.
