Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical recycling technology which expands the recycling and use of excessive used paper or paper wastes and reduces the amount of fossil resources used.
SOLUTION: A mixture comprising at least one liquid compound selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl phenyl compounds, polyvalent alcohol compounds and cyclic ester compounds, an alkaline or acid catalyst and paper, is heated to liquefy the paper. The paper is previously opened before liquefaction. The opened paper has a bulk density of 200 g/L or smaller, and 50% or more fiber in the paper has a fiber length of from 0.2 to 2 mm. The opened paper is previously wetted in a liquefaction agent. A liquefied paper composition having a non-liquefied residue content of 20 wt.% or smaller, is added with an isocyanate or a phenol resin hardener, cured and molded.
