Abstract:

To obtain a process oil that exhibits the similar properties as those of a conventional aroma oil, has no carcinogenic problem and excellent safety and to provide a method for producing the same.

The process oil is obtained by using a deasphalted oil produced by deasphalting the reduced-pressure distillation residue of crude oil as a raw material and has properties of (a) <3 mass% polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PCA) content, (b) 40-70 mm2/s viscosity (100°C), (c) 85-100°C aniline point, (d) ≥250°C flash point, (e) 40-55 mass% aromatic hydrocarbon content and (f) 10-15% by mass polar substance content. The method for producing the process oil is provided.
