PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned polymers having high crystallinity and high melting point and superior thermal stability and good processability by polymerizing 1,5-hexadiene in the presence of catalysts comprising specified metallocene compounds and alumoxane compounds.
CONSTITUTION: 1,5-hexadienecyclo polymers having high crystallinity and melting point are obtained by polymerizing 1,5-hexadiene monomers at -20 to +20°C in the presence of catalysts comprising meallocene compounds of formula I (M is Zr, Hf; R is 1-7C hydrocarbon; X1 and X2 are H, halogen, 1-20C hydrocarbon, OH, OR, SH, SR) or formula II [Q is bi-valent C2R'4 group (R' is H, R), Si2R4 group] and one or more of alumoxane compounds of formula III (R' is 2-20C alkyl, alkylene, 7-20C alkaryl; n is integer of 1 to 20) (example: tetraisobutylalumoxane, or the like).
