Abstract:
PURPOSE: High purity cis-epoxysuccinic acid salts are economically prepared by reacting maleic acid salt with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a particular catalyst and by reusing the residue after separating of the title compound and slight amount of racemic tartaric acid.
